Reconciliation
As a therapist and a fifth-generation settler, I’m aware of the systemic harms of colonial systems, and that I benefit from the privilege in them.
The fear of moving in error often holds us back from living and practicing differently than the systems and norms we’re familiar with.
No one person can show up perfectly, but we can all contribute through our unique abilities and influence. When carried out, each act furthers the collective resistance that improves communities and relationships.
I’m committed to:
Learning, collaboration, and advocacy;
Modeling reconciliation, allyship, and healthy relationships for my children;
Protecting and centering self-determination and consent in my therapeutic work;
Speaking up to prevent the desensitization or normalization of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, residential school violence, genocide, and trauma;
Unlearning--Please connect with me to offer correction, insights, or ideas that promote reconciliation and increase safety and well-being.
